Information for Parents

 

PAYMENT OF TUITION:

Tuition is due the first class of the month. Clients will not be invoiced each month unless payment is late.  Any tuition paid after the 10th will encure a $15.00 late fee.

DSOM South now allows you to access your own account live 24 hours a day.  Payments can be made when you log into your account at any time.

Tuition is due on the 1st class of the month through our auto pay system.

Fall 2023/2024 Session Pricing

Registration fee for 1 student is $25.00 or $40.00 for family in same household. The registration fee is non-refundable.

  • $50 per month = 30 min class

  • $55 per month = 45 min class

  • $60 per month = 1 hr class

  • $75 per month = 1.5 hr class

  • $96 per month = 2 hr class

  • $115 per month = 2.5 hr class

  • $125 per month = 3 hr class

Acro Levels

Our Acro/Gymnastics classes are based on skills for dancers 4th-12th grade. Please see our chart below to determine which class your dancer should be in. DSOM South has the right to move dancers into different levels as we see fit. The number one priority of all Acro classes is safety and we ensure that by placing dancers in the correct level for their skill set.

4-12th Grade
Level 1: No experience necessary
Level 2: Must be able to do a bridge and cartwheels on both sides
Level 3: Kick over from a bridge & handstand to bridge. Must also be taking one other dance class. Level 4: Front and Back walkovers and working or have Aerials. Must also be taking 2 additional dance classes.


CLASS ATTIRE:

You can purchase all your dance attire through our online store. https://www.shopnimbly.com/dsomsouth . Our class recommendations are shown for you to purchase from, or you can purchase through the Shop Dancewear section at the top. All dance shoes are to be purchased at the studio, not through the website. Dancers must have the studio shoes for our recital at the end of the year. All shoes are fit to give your dancer a year’s worth of growth. We offer high quality shoes at a less expensive price than some of the big box stores. Classes will be fitted for shoes on the first few weeks of class.

Preschool and Kinderdance – Form fitting clothing of any color is acceptable for all dancers. Leotard, tights with a skirt or pants and a tight fitted top are examples.

White ballet shoes without ties. Hair should be pulled back off of the neck and face.

Ballet – Form fitting clothing of any color is acceptable for all dancers. Leotard, tights with a skirt or pants and a tight fitted top are examples.

Level 1/2 full sole ballet pink, ballet 3/4 split sole ballet pink. Hair should be in a ballet bun. Please see your instructor for easy tips on how to get your dancers hair in a ballet bun.

Jazz/Contemporary/Lyrical – Form fitting clothing of any color is acceptable for all dancers.  Leotard, tights and/or shorts or pants and a tight fitted top are examples. Shorts may be worn but should be fitted.

Jazz classes will wear tan split sole jazz shoes. Contemporary and lyrical will be barefoot.  Hair must be pulled back off of the neck and face.

Acro - Form fitting clothing of any color is acceptable for all dancers. Shorts may be worn but should be fitted. Barefoot with footless tights or bare legs.

Tap – Form fitting clothing of any color is acceptable for all dancers. Level 1/2 tan tap shoes, level 3/4 black tie tap shoes. Hair must be pulled back off neck and face.

Hip Hop – Students are permitted to wear loose clothing with the exception of jeans or school clothes. Sweat pants or baggy shorts are great and a loose fitting t-shirt or tank.

Black dance sneakers. Please do not wear street shoes to class. Carry your sneakers in with you to keep our floors clean and free of dirt.

Adult Students – We do not have a dress code for adult students. Wear what is comfortable and lets your body breath and move.

 

We will be closed on the following days this 2023-2024 season:

-October 31 Halloween

-November 22-26 Thanksgiving Break

-December 20–January 1 Holiday Break

-February 19-25 Winter Break

-April 15-21 Spring Break

We do not close for Monday holidays with the exception of Memorial Day.



SNOW DAYS and Closings:

All snow closures are posted on DSOM South social media. You will also be notified via emailed and text. Notification will be made 2 hours prior to start of classes.

Make up classes for snow days will be made up if more than 3 snow days occur on the same day of the week.

 

Costume Payment and Recital Fee

All recital costume payments are due no later than November 3, 2023. When you register, it will be placed on your account and will automatically be deducted on November 3rd. You can pay the charge anytime before then. All late payments will incur a $5.00 per week late fee. We appreciate your on time payment to ensure all of the classes’ costumes will be ordered on time. If you wish, we do accept monthly payments towards your costume starting in September. Costumes are non-refundable. The recital fee is $35 and will be charged to the card on file on April 1st. The recital fee includes a link to the recital video as well as a commemorative pin. The fee is mandatory if you are participating in the recital.

 

Report an absence

If your dancer is going to be absent for any reason, we ask that you please report an absence. CLICK HERE to report an absence or click the Report an absence tab on the top of our website.
